Correct a walk

When a walk got a fruit wrong, correct it on the walk's results page or in the ledger. The scored walk stays as it is. The week summary, the forecast, and the export read the corrected counts.

Two panels. As scored: four boxes, one of them on a leaf, and a red fruit with no box; the counts read green 2, turning 1, red 1. With corrections: a green fruit changed to red, the leaf marked not a fruit, and a box drawn for the missed fruit; the counts read green: model 2, corrected 0, turning 1, red: model 1, corrected 3.Two panels. Where to correct

Open a finished walk at /app/jobs/:id, or the Ledger. The Corrections card sits next to the picture. Choose Photo with marks under the picture to see the boxes you pick and draw.

Only walks scored by your organization can be corrected. Sign in with your organization's key first; any key works, admin or member.

Change a fruit's ripeness

  1. Under Picture tool, choose Pick a fruit, then pick the fruit on the picture. You can also pick it in the Fruit on this frame list, which works from the keyboard.
  2. The card shows what the model said. Choose green, turning, or red.

The fruit counts as the class you chose on every frame it was seen on, because one fruit is one track across the video.

Mark a box as not a fruit

Pick the fruit the same way and choose Not a fruit. It no longer counts in any class. Use it for a leaf, a stem knot, or a reflection the model took for a fruit.

Add a missed fruit

  1. Choose Draw a missed fruit and drag a box around the fruit on the picture.
  2. Or, under Missed fruit, choose Place a box and type its corners: Left, Top, Right, Bottom, in pixels of the picture.
  3. Choose its ripeness under Ripeness of the missed fruit, then Add the fruit.

The box must stay inside the frame. An added fruit counts once, on the frame you drew it on. If the same fruit was missed on several frames of a video, add it on one.

Type the true counts

If you counted the row by hand, use Type the true counts. Type a whole-walk total for green, turning, or red and choose Save the counts. Each class you type replaces the counted fruit for that class. A class left empty keeps its count from the fruit. Clear the typed counts goes back to the counted fruit.

Counts are whole numbers from 0 to 1,000,000. A walk has one set of typed counts.

Undo

The Edits list shows every correction on the walk. Undo on a row removes that one correction, and that fruit counts as the model saw it again. Changing a fruit you already corrected replaces the earlier choice.

What the corrections change

  • The walk itself never changes: frames, boxes, and the model's labels stay as scored.
  • The week summary, the forecast, the backtest, accuracy, the overview, and the CSV export use the corrected counts.
  • Where a count changed, the app shows both, such as "model 120, corrected 104". Under the walk's counts it says Counts include your corrections.
  • The CSV export adds the model's counts and the number of corrections in its last columns. See Weather and CSV export.
  • Backtest and accuracy replay past weeks with the corrections as they are today. Stored forecasts keep the number they were issued with. See Backtest and error ranges.
  • Corrections are not used to train the model. See the roadmap.

Limits

  • A walk holds at most 2,000 corrections.
  • A fruit has one ripeness change or one not-a-fruit mark, not both.
  • A note on a correction, sent over the API, is at most 500 characters.
  • Another organization can't see or correct your walks. Your corrections are in the data download, and deleting the organization deletes them.

Scripts can do the same with the API. See API reference.
